Beijing municipal legislature is now mulling a so-called "Good Samaritan Law" to encourage people to help others in need. If the draft bill was to be passed, people who offer a helping hand to others in Beijing will be protected by law, they will not be held responsible for causing harm when trying to help others. Is such a law necessary?
