Top legislator Zhang Dejiang said here on Thursday that China-Kazakhstan relations had reached an unprecedented level. Zhang, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People"s Conference (NPC), made the remarks when he met a delegation from Kazakhstan"s ruling Nur Otan Party, which was led by its First Deputy Chairman Askar Myrzakhmetov. Zhang spoke about a joint declaration on the new era of comprehensive strategic partnership signed by President Xi Jinping and Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev recently. He said the agreement would help advance the integration of development strategies, deepen pragmatic cooperation and promote common prosperity. Zhang, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, said the CPC and the Nur Otan should continue exchanges to ensure the sound development of bilateral relations. The NPC, Zhang said, was ready to strengthen friendly communication with Kazakhstan parliament to jointly advance bilateral links. Myrzakhmetov said the earlier meeting between leaders of the two countries gave the people of Kazakhstan much encouragement, expressing hope that the two sides would continue close cooperation on implementing the consensus reached by the two leaders. On Thursday morning, Wang Jiarui, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People"s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), held a meeting with Myrzakhmetov and the delegation. |
