Construction of supporting facilities for the Sino-Australia Modern Industrial Park is in full swing in the north of Jintang Island, Dinghai district, Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province.
A 451-meter approach bridge is essentially completed, and will serve as an exclusive pier for processing imported Australian live cattle.
The pier will include a 270-meter berth with a load capacity of 30,000 metric tons that can handle 452,000 heads of cattle per year.
A 41-hectare quarantine farm for imported Australian live cattle is also essentially completed.
The project, initiated in 2016 and worth 10 billion yuan ($1.47 billion), aims to develop three pillar industries in Zhoushan, including the deep processing of high-end imported animal protein, especially Australian beef cattle, the high-end food industry based on Australian agricultural produce, and the tourist industry centering around a to-be-built Australian characteristic town.
The Sino-Australia Modern Industrial Park is the second State-level cooperation project in Zhejiang province, which marks new ground for trade cooperation between Australia and the province.
