Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hong Lei said Abadi was visiting at the invitation of Chinese Premier Li Keqiang. The trip was originally scheduled for August, but was postponed by al-Abadi due to security and reform issues in his country. The Iraqi government is seeking China"s support for a UN meeting over the withdrawal of Turkish troops from Iraq. |
